Xenon is a rare gas obtained during the primary krypton-xenon concentrate production at industrial enterprises’ oxygen plants. It has no smell, colour, or taste; it is inert to chemical substances and non-toxic but at the same time has an ionization potential.

The colour of xenon lamps is close to the sunlight spectrum. With a higher light intensity, such lamps consume relatively little electric power. Due to these characteristics, these lamps are widely used to illuminate large areas, e.g. aircraft parking areas, stadiums, or signal lights of lighthouses.

Xenon is an essential gas in the space industry due to its considerable ionization potential, high density, and low heat capacity.
